Frequently Asked Questions
- When should I have it done?
- Minimum recommendation is twice a year. Once in the fall to prep it for the
nasty winter salt and sand. And again after the winter in the spring to have a
fresh coat of Clear coat sealant for those sunny days. There is a recommended
maximum of 4 times per year. For those of you who want to keep it maintained,
there is a maintenance program monthly that can keep the detail look going
year round. Ask one of our staff for more details.
- How Long does this take?
- 1 day, about 6 hours
- Will it remove all my scratches and dents?
- It will remove all surface scratches that have not penetrated you
clear coat. It will not remove dents or road chips. Please asked one of our
staff at drop off about touch up services and maybe even dent repair.
- Why shouldn't I compound the vehicle myself?
- Because you can easily burn the paint or do serious damage to your
clear coat where we will have to refinish the vehicle. Most people buy over
the counter compound that is too coarse and end up doing more damage than
good to the car. Car owners have also been known to burn the paint (
removing the clear coat to reveal the undercoats of the vehicle ). Once and
edge or panel is burned, the only alternative is to repaint that panel.
